David Mbele

A South African visual artist who was born in 1942.

David Mbele has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Gallery 2, Johannesburg.

Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including '2 works: Figures' sold at 5th Avenue Auctioneers 'Auction' in 2013.

David's works are unique and very valuable since they provide insight into the lifestyle, culture and history of Africa, particuluarly South-Africa. The simple, clean charcoal lines with monochromatic colouring provides a classic appreciation and emotion of daily life. David features mostly figures who tell African stories of lifestyle.
